This was the cry of the newspaper boy made most noticeable during the World War II era as he held up that special edition. Of course, he and the Newspaper wanted to sell newspapers. But this cry to sell a paper went deeper than that. Something BIG had HAPPENED! The people needed to know the news, especially if it was GOOD NEWS, during a time of war and world conflict.
As one was walking down the street in a major metropolitan city, it might have been a little annoying to be jolted away from a mission or daily plan by the loud cry of a little kid shouting for your attention to sell a newspaper. Put yourself in the position of grabbing that paper and reading the headline like "WAR ENDS IN EUROPE" on May 8, 1945 or "JAPAN SURRENDERS TO ALLIES" on September 2, 1945.
Probably just about anything you would have been doing would have immediately seemed insignificant compared to GOOD NEWS like that! You would have been grateful for that annoying newspaper boy- he just made your day!
This website is the electronic edition of a newspaper given out at the Tulsa State Fair in 2010. It is dedicated to sharing the GOOD NEWS that you, your friends, relatives, coworkers, and yes, even your enemies, need to hear. We too, live in a day of conflict. Physical battles with nation against nation still continue. While not on the scale of World War II, our technologies have put us in the precarious position that one rogue nation or group could potentially destroy civilization as we know it.
The physical battles also come down to cities and neighborhoods and even wreck homes and families. Physical violence is just the tip of the iceberg. Nations, states, cities and corporations are in a financial crisis of epic proportions. Personal and National debt is out of control. Greed and corruption affect our lives from multiple sources. Addictions to drugs, alcohol, sex, eating, internet and on an on continue to destroy individuals and families. Moral relativism has taken hold where "everyone does what is right in their own eyes" to the ultimate detriment of society as a whole.
Yes, we need good news today. We need to know that with all the uncertainty and back-stabbing that truth and trust still exist. We need to know that someone cares for us and has made provision for us, no matter what we have done or are doing. There is good news for you, today. There is also good news for you in the future if you are willing to receive it. Thanks for exploring this website and may you find (or share with others) the good news you need.
After all, this is good news you really can't live without.
